Hey Everyone,
I have another review for you today! This time I’m taking a look at the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer* which has become a bit of a hot topic within the beauty and blogging community. I was so excited to find this in my local Superdrug store as they’re pretty much ALWAYS out of stock and ordering online scares me incase I get the wrong shade. Either way, I ended up buying it and I thought a review would help the undecided out there.
If you haven’t heard already, the beauty community has been heavily debating whether or not this concealer is a dupe for the Taste Shape Tape. I haven’t tried that so I can’t draw a direct comparison, however, I’m personally interested in testing it out as a drugstore concealer as an alternative to the ones that I already love and use regularly. The packaging is a gorgeous metallic purple-pink colour which makes a change from the usual packaging brands seem to opt for (black lid, clear tube). It’s available in 18 shades (wow) and it was so easy to find the right one for my skin tone. If you’re panicking about which one would work best for you, check out the descriptions on the Superdrug website as Makeup Revolution have kindly explained the undertones in each shade.
As you can see, the doe foot applicator is huge which I love as it means I can really make the most of the product whilst being able to get it where I need it to be in one clean swoop. I prefer to blend it in with my beauty blender so that I get a nice flawless finish. I also find that on days where I don’t want or need full coverage, using a wet sponge can make it more sheer. I like to go back over it with a tiny bit of translucent powder or banana powder to brighten the area even more and to set it properly too.
I was actually surprised at how creamy the formula is, even though this is a full coverage concealer! I found it super easy to blend out and it doesn’t feel cakey whatsoever. It lasts all day and even managed to remain put during a 5 hour IKEA marathon. It’s probably worth mentioning that I also used their Pro Fix Fixing Spray for added protection! I can’t find any flaws with this product and I honestly think it’s one of the best drugstore concealers I’ve ever tried. The fact that it retails at only £4 is AMAZING too, as it makes it an affordable alternative to the ridiculously overpriced high-end products whilst also offering you the same high quality. I strongly recommend giving this fabulous concealer a try! Let me know what you think of it in the comments!
