5 TIPS FOR SELLING ON DEPOP

Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! Recently, I’ve been having a clear-out of my wardrobe. There’s lots that I don’t wear anymore and I could do with an overhaul as my style has really changed. I also seem to have developed an addiction for gym wear since starting my fitness journey so I’m going to need to make some room for that!

Over the last few months, I’ve been using Depop to sell my clothes. At first I didn’t have much success but after picking up a few tips and tricks here and there I’ve managed to make quite a bit of money. So, if you’re organising your wardrobe or want to make some extra money, here are 5 tips for selling on Depop!

1. Make an effort with your photos

If you want people to even notice you, let alone purchase what you’re selling, you need to put some time and effort into your photography. Consider lighting, background and how you want to display your item. You can lay things flat on the floor or your bed, model them or show them hanging up. If you’re able to model the clothes yourself, do it. It’s a great way to give customers an idea of how an item will look on them. Depop recommends that you use all 4 photo slots to increase your visibility, so make sure that you do this! Take a picture of the front, the back, the label and any other details you want to capture. Always include a photo of any signs of wear or damage to the item too!

2. Upload regularly and consistently

This is key for getting people to notice you and your shop. I personally find that batch uploading is a great way to do this. I take a load of photos in one go, quickly make them into drafts on Depop and include information like the material that the items are made of or the condition that they’re in. This means I have the photos and information ready to upload wherever I am. It makes it so much easier and quicker to do! The more regularly that you upload, the more your shop gets shown to potential customers.

3. Refresh your listings

This might not have crossed your mind. It didn’t cross mine for weeks and I was missing out on a lot of sales because of it. Depop is a big place and there are millions of items being uploaded every single day. People are very unlikely to see your listings weeks after you’ve uploaded them. Refreshing your listings is really simple. Firstly, select an item, perhaps the one furthest down in your shop and choose the “Edit this item” option. Then you want to type a space somewhere that it can’t be noticed, like at the bottom of the description that you’ve written. Once you’ve done this, press save. Your listing will shoot right back to the top of your shop and will go back into the Depop algorithm as if it were brand new. I like to do this a few times a week whilst I’m watching TV or whenever I have a few minutes spare. You’d be surprised at how much this helps!

4. Don’t forget costs & fees

Depop take a 10% fee for every item sold. Make sure that you keep this in mind when pricing your item and whether or not you want to charge for postage. Depop sometimes remove seller fees for a short period of time which I highly recommend making the most of!

5. Use relevant hashtags and keywords

This is a huge help for getting buyers to find what they’re looking for. If you’re selling a pair of pink leggings from ASOS that someone wants, how do you help them find it? Make sure you’re using keywords such as “ASOS”, “Leggings” and “Pink”. Do the same with hashtags; “#ASOS #Leggings #Pink”. You want to try and include all of the terms that someone wanting to find them would use. Avoid using irrelevant hashtags. It is misleading and also actually prevent you from being found.

So there you have it, my top five tips for selling on Depop! I hope you find them helpful. If you’d like to have a browse for yourself, check out my shop here. Do you sell on Depop? What about other selling apps? Do you have any tips to share? Let me know in the comments!

UPDATING MY WARDROBE: CYCLING SHORTS & DALMATIAN PRINT

Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! I’m back with a new fashion post today and I’m finally confessing my love for cycling shorts as well as sharing a new animal print favourite with you!

*This post contains gifted items and affiliate links

When I finally invested in some of those cycling-style shorts (Primark, ยฃ1.50 not see through, thank me later) that every influencer and their mum is successfully styling out – I started to panic. What tops I could wear with them? I didn’t want to whip out my sports bra and crop tops and look like an extra for the Call On Me video. I’m not a huge fan of flashing the old groin out in public (under clothes, obviously) – I don’t think I’m cool enough to pull off that crop top and cycling shorts gym girl look, you know? Anyway, so I was about to return the shorts when I remembered the other 90% of my wardrobe (oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts) were also options worth considering. Problem solved! These shorts go so well with longline t-shirts and jumpers – the perfect summer to autumn transition outfit. Whack on a pair of chunky trainers and you’re good to go! Also, because Primark don’t sell their clothes online, I’ve tagged similar ones below!

I Saw It First – Black Cycling Shorts // Boohoo High – Rise Cycling Shorts // Stradivarius Legging Short

I’ve already written about my love for oversized t-shirts in my previous “Updating My Wardrobe” post but this one is different. Look at the print! I didn’t even think Dalmatian print had made it into the fashion world but I was so wrong. Apparently its been a thing for ages and I’ve just been living under a rock. I flipping LOVE it! it’s like polka dots but more satisfying. I love how well it goes with bright colours too (hence all of the red in this outfit). This particular top end gifted to me from I Saw it First and is currently ยฃ5 in the sale so, go and grab it whilst you can! It’s also available in black, grey, nude, white and sand. I’ve tagged them all below!

Dalmatian // Black // Grey // Nude // White // Sand

What do you think about the whole cycling short trend? Is Dalmatian print for you? Let me know in the comments! Iโ€™ve put links to all of my social media down below and Iโ€™d love it if you would come and say hi!

HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT PROM DRESS*

Hey Guys,

Today I’m going to be talking about something a little different! I recently discovered an amazing website called Prom Dress Finder* which bascially helps you find the prom dress of your dreams in seconds! When I was searching high and low for a prom dress, I was so overwhelmed by the pages and pages of options on different websites. It felt like there was too much to look at and too many websites to visit. With Prom Dress Finder, it’s so much faster and easier to plan your perfect prom night.

fullsizeoutput_100.jpegSince creating my blog, I’ve come to understand the importance of a simple layout and easy navigation when it comes to using websites. It’s pretty much the first thing that I look for. Nobody wants to spend ages trying to find exactly what they want and with Prom Dress Finder it’s super easy to find your way around.ย They have dresses from lots of different brands including Miss Selfridge, Asos and Missguided. You can filter the results in terms of colour and price too which is really helpful for finding exactly what you want. It makes me want to go and do prom again, now that I know how easy and stress-free it can be!

They have cateorgies to help you find exactly what you need and not only do they have dresses, but they also have shoes, accessories, hair styling tips and transport ideas. It’s got it all! I love that they have articles with lots of advice in as sometimes it can be really overwhelming to manage it all on your own! I’m someone that leaves lots of things until last minute and this can be so stressful when it comes to planning events like Prom! It’s so useful to have everything in one place so it makes organising things much easier.

These are just a few of my favourites from their website – there are lots more! They have every style too and they also stock maternity, plus-sized, tall and petite dresses too so you’re bound to find something that suits YOU. As a girl with big boobs and a tiny body, it can be really hard to find any clothing that addresses this issue! It’s nice to see that they’ve attempted to cater for everyone. Prom is about feeling fabulous and I’m sure that by using this website, you’ll be well on your way!

This post is in collaboration with Prom Dress Finder.ย Anything marked with an “*” are sponsored links, which means I earn commission through every click, however all opinions are my own! I would love to know where you guys bought your prom dresses from and what you think of this fabulous website! I think it’s such a great idea and it really does take away all of the stress and it lets you enjoy picking your perfect dress! I’ve never seen a website that offers all of these features, so I think it deserves some recognition and also I hope it helps some of you if you’re going to Prom this year. If you do use this website, do let me know how you get on as I’d love to hear from you! Also, for any of you with exams, I wish you the best of luck!
